L.G. MUST READ!
Not one usually into romantic historical novels. Heather Adams' new book has made me a convert. On Angels Wings, Ms. Adams' writing places you in the center of the journeys of Angela Anderson.A woman of unusual strength who loves with passion, devotion, dedication, longevity, and determination. No matter how many obstacles that lay and wait; from wars to new countries, Angela's love for the man who held her heart and the son whose life she had to keep alive would drive her to keep going to the happiness she deserved and her final trials. This is a must read from page one to the end!
J.S. A new star on the horizon
Heather Adams is a brilliant author. This novel is wonderful. You won't be disappointed; it has twists and turns that makes it exciting. Anyone that loves to read as much as I do should buy this novel and her other ones. Look out world, Heather Adams is destined to be in the big leagues with Ayn Rand, Barbara Cartland, Danielle Steel, Sandra Brown, Mary Janice Davidson. I'm excited and looking forward to reading all of her work.
K.M. Love romance novels? You won't want to miss this one.
It's true what others have said, you will not be able to put this book down. I'm going to have to re-read it while I am impatiently waiting for the sequel to come out.
You will meet some characters in this book that you will never forget. You'll also learn about some really interesting history in England and in the colonial U.S. I often found myself saying, "I didn't know that!" as I moved through these historically-based scenes. A tremendous amount of research went into making this story come alive. That research is just the underpinning to a masterfully crafted, fascinating story that will keep you saying "just one more chapter" and before you know it, it's 3:00 a.m.
The author has a real gift for bringing people, and their surroundings, to life. The sights and sounds, the smells and the feel of the environment are made vivid and real in just a few words or phrases. There are just enough developments of the plot that you will be able to guess before they happen to make you feel smart. But there are also plenty of twists that you will never see coming, which makes it a very exciting read.
There are a couple features that set this book apart. One is a unifying metaphor which opens the book and recurs as a touchstone throughout. Another is a thread of references to Homer's Odyssey thats run through the book. These add another dimension of richness to the experience of reading this novel.
So Heather Adams, if you are reading this, let me just say: keep working on that sequel, I want to find out what happens to these people next!
J.D.S Wonderful talent
Format: Kindle Edition
Heather Adams has allowed us the privilege to see America become a free country through the eyes of Angela Enderby. The doubts, the denials, and then acceptance. The struggles the family went through. The grudge of Polly which never faded. An excellent read. Looking forward to the next novel.

L.D. Highly Recommended
Just finished On Angels Wings. Was a great book. Once you start it you will not want to put it down. It's that good. It's a must read, don't let the amount of pages keep you from this one it goes real fast. Great story.
D.M.H. GREAT READ
This book brilliantly combines early American history and romance, then intertwines mythology and then wraps it up in the happy ever after of a fairy tale we all know and love. Easily holds one interest as well as actually putting you on the scene with the characters. Bravo! to the author!
B.B. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED YOU MUST ABSOLUTELY MUST CHECK THIS OUT!!!This is one of those books you can't put down! It roars with emotions and history that I never knew about. The pirate scenes are ones that reminded me of the old movies...hollywood should check out this book! let's get some REAL story lines going at the box office. Perhaps it won't be on video in 2 weeks. This book will keep you turning those pages. The chapters are small, and you'll say to yourself just one more and before you know it it's daylight. I read this book in 4 days, which was a feat for me, but I couldn't put it down. You won't be able to either. I just loved it....On Angels Wings, wonderful wonderful piece of literature! Hurry Ms. Adams with your sequels!
K.M. Better second time around!
I thoroughly enjoyed "On Angels Wings" the first time I read it - and stayed up way too late many nights in a row because I could not put it down. Not only does it have intrigue and romance, it has a literary underpinning, history, and wry tweaks of humor. The characters are brought to life with a few deftly written sentences. Above all you never know what is going to happen next as the plot wends it way through twists and turns from 18th century England to colonial America.
I re-read it in preparation for tackling the second book in the saga, "Son of the Wolf." The second reading was more leisurely and gave me a chance really to appreciate Ms. Adams writing and storytelling skills. I savored every moment of the re-reading and now I look forward to learning what happens to the next generation in "Son of the Wolf."
I agree 100% with the previous reviewer, this book would make a wonderful movie. Ms. Adams has even provided material for the movie's sequel!
K.W. Couldn't sleep for 4 days!
I almost always read non-fiction but have really enjoyed a few fiction books, this in one of them. I LOVE the way the author combines history into this romantic adventure. I not only got wrapped up in the story I learned a few things along the way. I really enjoyed this book and when I was at the end I wanted more, so I know it had pulled me in, and that is not an easy thing to do. I really appreciate great writers like Heather in a world where any one can write. Good job! I am sure to follow her career through the years.
A.E. A reviewer
I found the book intriguing especially the way the author was able to use the Odyssey thru out, I can't wait for the second book to come out, I feel there is a future for this author who makes one feel as though one is right there along with the characters.

R.R. Being carried On Angels Wings
Monroe and Angela are carried 'On Angels Wings' through their adventures and so is the reader carried by the writing of Heather Adams. An intriguing story which kept me captivated throughout. It was difficult to put the book down and I felt relief at the ends of chapters. Excellent visualization!!
G.T.S. EXCEPTIONAL GOOD STORY LINE
IN A TIME WHEN LITERATURE IS SEEMINGLY HEADING IN A ABYSS, IT IS ENCOURAGING TO FIND A BOOK THAT NOT ONLY HAS A BASIS IN HISTORY AND ACCURATE IN ITS SCOPE BUT ALSO HAS EMOTION AND SENSE. THANK YOU FOR PUBLISHING THIS WORK. KUDO'S TO THE WRITER.
V.C. Hollywood ought to get a look at this one!
Take a journey on Angels Wing with Monroe and Angela, I got this book on a Thursday and was finished by Sunday. My husband was annoyed with me, but I didn't care this book is so good you want to know what happens next. The chapters are small so it does go real fast, but Heather Adams packs a lot in those chapters to make you want to turn the page from the first to the last. I think this book would make a great movie it has all the elements one needs to make a good movie. Spies, pirates wars love are just a few of the ideas that must run thru Ms.Adams head when she is writing this great novel. I already ordered Son Of the Wolf. I can't wait to read that one either. I plan on staying with Ms. Adams all thru her 4 part saga of the Enderby's! It's better than the Thorn Birds!
P.H. HOLLYWOOD SHOULD CHECK IT OUT
After being swept away by Angels Wings, I think Hollywood should stop putting out old movies remade, and start making new ones starting with this one! I can see the sword fights and the love scene now. All done with good taste, just as this book is written...exceptional! They should also make it an e-book for Nooks, I highly believe if this book was marketed the right way it could make it on the best sellers list! Kudos to the writer for putting the Odyssey in its pages...a great presence of characters and emotion flow in the pages. Please pick it up, you'll love it!

J.B. People do not know what they are missing! Where's the movie?
The first story was very exciting and adventurous which one would want to know. But this was my favorite book because of the embracing love story of two people in love that can finally be together as we all longed for! Finally, Monroe and Angela, their children and others can be together as a real family. But we can see danger lurking, which hopefully does not break up the family again.
When I tell others about these books I can not get the excitment across. With such busy lives, people do not want to take the time to read so do not know what they are missing! So we MUST see this as a movie! There are real life lessons people can learn from these stories such as the danger of getting involved with certain things but also the enduring love.

S.B. WILL MAKE A FANTASTIC MOVIE!!!!
I read the book in 3 days because it was so exciting I did not want to put it down! It's alive and stirs all kinds of emotions! The story holds you in suspense with the adventures, history, what is going to happen next and especially the love story! We learn truths about life and decisions made. We learn the importance of communicating and wisdom of learning from older ones who loyally guide and love us. This book wll be enjoyed by people from all walks of life, men, women, young and old. I am anxiously anticipating book 2. This would make a fantastic movie!

R.M. Romantic Adventure like never before!
From the beginning this story grabs hold of the reader and transports you back in time. The character development is well done and rather than reading the story it feels like the reader is actually part of the story. Romance, adventure plots and subplots..excellent read can't wait for the next installment.
L.R. Exceptionally well written
The characters in this novel come to life you are drawn into their lives as if you were there, The pages comes to life with each of the characters dreams, plights and desires. Very well written. Too bad you can't obtain this novel in stores. Many are missing out on a wonderful journey of adventure and hope.

M.M. WONDERFULLY DESCRIPTIVE!
Mystic and action filled, I enjoyed Son of the Wolf very much. Heather creates intriguing characters in an interesting setting. I look forward to reading more of Heather Adams' stories.
K.W. I almost ONLY read non-fiction but;

C.O. EXCELLENT READ!
Excellent, excellent period romance novel, weaving customs of English gentry, along with Colonial expansion, culminating in the American War of Independence. The travails of the heroine and her extended family against evil on both sides the Atlantic are spell-binding. Can't wait for the third installment of this series!
D.A. SON OF THE WOLF IS AWESOME!
This book was awesome! I'm glad I ordered "On Angels Wings", and "An American Enderby " at the same time I purchased "Son of the Wolf." I couldn't put the books down and am especially happy that I was able to dive right into the next book. I think this book could easily be made into a major motion picture, if not, a made for TV movie series. I would suggest Hollywood have Morgan Freeman play either Jamie or Stuart, and Meryl Streep as Angela's mother, Sarah. Once you've read this book you'll understand why I came away with feeling that Morgan and Meryl could fit the visual I got of the characters while reading both "On Angels Wings," and "Son of The Wolf." I read at least one book a week and I would highly recommend "Son of the Wolf".
K.M. Go ahead, try to put SON OF THE WOLF down!
I didn't lose quite as much sleep reading Heather Adams' 'Son of the Wolf' as I did with the first novel in this four-part saga, 'On Angels Wings' - but that's only because, at 229 pages, it is shorter than the first book. However, I still found myself saying sleepily, "Ok, I just have to read one more chapter to find out what happens next." Ms. Adams is adept at surprising the reader with unexpected plot twists. She makes the growing Enderby family, their friends - and their enemies! - so real as to evoke emotion even on seeing the characters' names.
The time period covered in this sequel is narrower; the action is focused on the conflicts that arise not only between the British and the American Colonists, but between Loyalists and Patriots of the Revolutionary War years. Ms. Adams has a real gift for combining historical events and figures (e.g. George Washington, Benedict Arnold) with her vividly portrayed fictional characters. In just a few sentences she brings each scene to life with her descriptions, whether of the action on a pirate ship, the danger of a spy mission, or the everyday chores and challenges of life in a colonial homestead.
If you haven't read 'On Angels Wings', you will find that Ms. Adams does a good job of filling in enough background for you to get a sense of events and people who were important in that first book. If you do read 'Son of the Wolf' first, I guarantee you will end up with a desire to go back and see what you missed in 'On Angels Wings'. Personally I enjoy reading from a physical book, but I understand that Ms. Adams' books are available on Kindle and on Nook eReaders. I hope her work also becomes available as a series of movies. Reading her writing is like watching a movie in your head - but it would be fun to see it on the big screen!
D.A. AN AMERICAN ENDERBY! WOW!
Heather Adams has done an excellent job with "An American Enderby." It's very interesting how she intertwines history with fiction. Having grown up in Mastic Beach I was familiar with many of the places she mentioned in "An American Enderby." In fact, I once lived on Hemlock Drive which is where one of the main characters lived. Heather has a way of eloquently describing intimate relationships between her characters without making it blatantly sexual. "An American Enderby" was a refreshing read.
M.M. FINALLY AN AMERICAN ENDERBY! THE LONG WAIT IS OVER AND WORTH IT!
Ms. Adams has produced another great book in her Enderby series. With believable, well-developed characters, showing family loyalty and love regardless of the conflicts they face are very well portrayed by Heather. The saga is set around the American Revolution and is very entertaining and
insightful!
